Nice. I'd miss the cruise and heat, though.

I'll take an Abarth version please: This one's lighter battery, but the standard bigger motor.
2013 500e has been my only car since 2015.

To clarify, it's only SEAT heat that's optional. In coastal southern California a don't need that at all.

I mainly only use cruise for hyper-miling, so I wouldn't miss it much. This is my 1st car with cruise, so I learned long ago how to just rest my foot against the side of the console.

Yep. I use cruise control all the time... would really miss it. It's how I knock down 33MPG in the city w/ the ICE. The standard model has heated steering wheel and seats. With those, I'd seldom require cabin heat once the windshield is defrosted. In the Willamette Valley, OR, there's about 3 weeks a year where heat is really needed. With that 30 minute (80%) quick-charge, it might even suit to drive to my friend's house, 65 miles away.

I also use cruise control during a lot of my commute. That's one of the reason's I have a 35.1 mpg lifetime fuel economy average with no real highway driving. Driving smoothly and cruise control really helps.

The other thing is it keeps me out of trouble with the police. Whenever they see me, I'm 99% of the time at the speed limit, so I think they just look past me (and my missing front license plate). Cruise also has trained me at what 40 mph feels like, which is the speed limit for most of the area I drive, so the times I'm not using it and pass the police, I'm not speeding.

Would I miss it in an electric car? Yeah, probably for the speed limit factor.

Cruise control was traditionally not a must have feature in the European city car segment. A Fiat exec told me that adding cruise control to the US Fiat 500 was one of the main reasons our doesn't have paddle shifters:

    Abarth to Get Automatic Transmission

Standard cruise control was added to the US car. In other markets, cars that had optional cruise control added via a stalk on the side of the column.

"The US Fiat 500 has cruise control with the control buttons having been added to the right side of the steering wheel. These replace the radio controls of the European car, which are now combined with the left side steering wheel controls.

The European Fiat 500 has radio controls on both sides of the steering wheel."

The cruise control on, the European 500’s, have the extra leveler under the turn signal one?

We only use Cruise control on long trips. My very first new car to have cruise control, was a 1978 Trans Am. I ordered from the factory. When I worked at the Chevy, in new car get ready. I use to install the GM vacuum operated ones. If the customer wanted that options.

Cruise control on new cars today, you just take for granted. Like power windows.

Does that budget 500e, even have a sound system?

I was wondering why cruise control was on a stalk for EU cars. There was talk 2 years ago that the EU would implement speed control in all new cars by 2022. It'd log driving data in case of an accident, have crash avoidance, and read speed limit signs to limit a car's speed. I doubt that could work in the US, as it can be overridden by the driver.

That's one I missed, smark. If you want music you have to use your phone. That's one that would never go over in the US. Even though cars have cut-rate sound systems, people expect them to be there.
