2012 Fiat 500 Sport with unique Italian flag roof

    Hi Folks
I have been driving this 2012 Fiat 500 Sport for the past few years. This car has a unique Italian flag painted on the roof. I don't know much if anything behind the history of the marketing that Fiat did when they re-introduced the car back into the United States.

Can someone who knows more about Fiat 500s let me know about this?

Would the car be of value to any enthusiasts on this site?

Mopar offer different vinyl roof Appliqus. For the roofs on the 500. Back in 2012, as options. This photo, is out of the Accessory booklet from 2012.
Your the first person I’ve seen, in 10 years has posted that roof design.

Welcome to the forum. That was an accessory that could be purchased. Originally when the 500 was offered here, there were 500,000 different configuration options available. Personalization was a big part of 500 ownership. Check out Fiat500usa.com for a crash course on the 500. Start at the beginning in 2009 and work your way up to the more modern posts. By the time you get there, you'll be an expert on all things 500. Enjoy!

It is part number 82212783. You can still find US, Canadian and Mexican flags (emblem in the middle of the Italian flag) but the original factory Italian flag is difficult to find.

The vinyl wraps, reminded me of the Mini Cooper’s Union Jack roofs. Back in 2011, a couple of the 500’s, at the Studio. Had those roof wraps installed. There were Accessory side stripes too. Couldn’t apply a roof wrap to my car, because of the sunroof. At the height of the 500 popularity. The dealer was striping everything.

Some strange after market striping too....

Thanks for the answer! This was a question that I had for a long time after purchasing the car as a trade-in.

I picked up some wiper blades at the dealer today and asked about the Italian flag applique. They aren't available from FCA and are marked "awaiting supplier"... whatever that means. I was rather shocked when, a couple years ago, a 500 owner was cut off by one of those oversized PUs. The driver started shouting something about "go home"... not know the difference between the Italian and Mexican flag.

The poster noted, as the PU pulled away, the tailgate was a large Confederate flag... didn't think it wise to yell at the trucker to go home.

You can still buy the Italian flag roof wrap. On line. Not sure, I’d pay $260 for one. Saw some on eBay, for sale.

I would prefer a stupid screaming chicken and gold pin stripe. Can you imagine the comments you would get?

I'm not sure how the eBay ones hold up. I'm trying a remedy this spring to see if my 3M top wrap can be recovered, or if it needs to be ripped off after 1 year. There is one outfit that still has the factory Italian flag available, mostly because he marked it up to around $600, including shipping.

I'm not sure if anything can be done to renew the top.

I would think that wrap should have a guarantee. https://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/...s-brochure.pdf
