    Another week, another part

So since buying my used 2013 abarth several months ago I've had to replace several parts that I found to be 'missing'. I imagine most were left off or lost during its trips to get serviced. (before my time. It's a used fiat).

Here's the latest piece I've just noticed. It was crudely bathroom sealant'ed - not a word - back into place after the retaining pieces had been mangled/snapped.

Any guesses as to where this is from?

I know btw, its just a fun way to see who knows their stuff. I'm hoping the image enlarges because it looks mighty small composing this post :/

    IMG_0666.jpg

edit - no looking up the part number. Although, as we all know, part numbers rarely stay the same for long. Especially true in regards to our now defunct n/a abarth 500s!

Armrest top cap? I used Gorrilla Glue for a permanent fix after mechanic broke it.

A little reflecting and I think I have it on the top of my head... but I’ll let another member guess, too.

haha - Yes you all knew! I get it.

Today I was going to post the other side showing the shape better.

After removal I notice the locating points are broken on both that piece & the cowl itself. Looking online I see a complete new cowl is $108. Tempting, seeing as mine is a washed out white/grey color. Ive tried numerous trim restorers & nothing held up past a few months!
Also while fiddling it became clear the trim clips are broken too. I wonder if buying the whole cowl would mean I'd get the small fill in trim pieces as well as the clips. I'll do some research.

I've also got to order the under tray/belly pan nuts & bolts kit I saw posted on this informative forum...somewhere. Mine is held on by what looks like spit & sawdust (a UK term)

My car sits outside in the nasty winter so mine is also fading. I was also thinking about getting a new cowl, but I may just pull it off and paint it. If I had to guess, I would say the covers don't come with the new cowl, but let us know how you make out.

I'll certainly keep you updated...when I get time to properly research what parts I need to buy.

On a side note, my car went in for some pdr last week, when I got it back I thoroughly checked it over and found -

    IMG_0674.jpgIMG_0673.jpgIMG_0671.jpgIMG_0670.jpgIMG_0669.jpg

I've had many issues when my car has entered a shop, either tire or mechanics, that I dread the day I have to take it for any sort of major mechanical work. I don't own & can't afford the correct tools.
Basic servicing I can manage myself, thankfully

    Quick Question:

Does your fiat 500 have any rubber weather stripping around the windshield?
If you need more details to understand what I'm talking about I'll take a photo of my screen surround later and add it to this thread.

Mine seems to be just pressed into place and held with only the sealant. No signs of rubber weather strips at all. Just wondering if this is the norm. Thanks for reading!

It's tough being at the mercy of the repair shop (or anyone for that matter).

Sounds like your windshield is normal. There is no moulding that goes around it. There is just glass and a small space between it and the body.
