    Reinstall transmission?? PITA

I cant for the life of me get the transmission back in. I had to flip it upside and drop it on my hand to get it out. Now getting it back in?? Making me regret ever falling in love with this car!!

Do i gotta drop the sub frame??

Do I gotta tear the whole front out with the engine??

Gas is hitting $4 a gallon, delivering pizza in a Lincoln Town Car is no way to live.

My DMF wore out and went wobbly, broke the casing of my transmission and sent debris into it. New clutch, new flywheel, transmission is what I'm doing.

No mobile mechanic in my area is willing to tackle this. Not a good sign lol. If anybody wants to make a few bucks in SoCal HMU.

You should have removed the front clip... and dropped the K-Member and drivetrain as one piece.

I've pulled mine before without too much trouble. I had the axles out and the car jacked up. A friend and I got all the bolts out and anything attached to it unhooked, then we slip it off the one stud, tilted it , and lower it out by hand. I had the motor block up and didn't remove the subframe. I didn't take the front off the car either. I will be doing it again in May if my LSD gets here on time. I will do a new Clutchmasters clutch then also. This was on a 13' Sport.

I think the Sport trans is slightly smaller than the Abarth one.

Myself, I pulled the engine & trans as a unit to change the transmission. Front came off, but left the subframe in place.

I got the sub frame most the way out but can't figure out what's holding it up, one of the torx bolts is completely seized into the steering rack 550ft/lbs impact can't budge it. all the other bolts came out with no fuss. Damn. guess I'm gonna have to find a helper or something, gonna have to put it in upside down and flip it like I did taking it out. So far I got it like half way in before I ran out of gas, still gotta flip it in the vehicle. Sucks not having a helper

I'm in Riverside, CA. I don't think the clutch is aligned right, my cousin came to help me and we can't get it to slide on. FML Lol. I gotta find the solid plastic aligner, autozone universal just too sloppy.

To update: The autozone tool aligned it perfectly, we just had to wiggle the flywheel and it slid right on.
