ECUs and AFR numbers fresh off the dyno

    Q. Some other companies selling competative ECU Modules claim that only their ECU Module is safe and all others have dangerously lean AFR numbers. Is this true?

    A. The MADNESS ECU Modules are manufactured by one of the most recognized names in the industry. We have spent 100's of hours testing these modules on our own cars and on ABARTH Race Cars that compete professionally on the race circuit. No issues of any kind have been reported. No other company can make these claims. In addition, we have spent countless hours dyno testing these ECU Modules to check for AFR numbers, HP and Torque Gains. We also tested a number of settings to see which would perform best on the ABARTH and be safe. We have found (based on testing) that when the box is set on a proper setting (#6 on an ABARTH) the AFR numbers are within the safe range when compared to the stock AFR numbers. Please see the enclosed AFR charts for the stock ABARTH and for an ABARTH outfitted with our MADNESS ECU Module set at setting #6.

Good stuff! About as close as you could ever hope for.

Will you be doing an dyno runs with cars that have intakes and/or exhausts on 'em?

Thanks for the post. I would like to see back to back dyno testing done with various mods and combinations of mods so we can see the cumulative effect of many mods vs. The additive totals a lot of forum members are quoting.

We will indeed have more numbers soon! And we did run the ECU and intake together, so those are coming

Wonderful... when's the last time told you guys that "YOU ROCK"...because, well, you DO! Thank you! BTW, my pop installed the Madness ECU and Pedal on his Abarth yesterday and called me while he was taking it for a spin for the first time. At first he was in traffic and wasn't feeling much difference other than the increased response from the pedal. But then he got off the freeway and was taking surface streets back to the garage, and got into it in 2nd gear. "OK, well, I DEFINITELY felt THAT!"... I could hear the tires and exhaust over the blue-tooth and was smiling ear to ear. Oh, and my Madness coilovers ROCKED on the auto-x event last weekend...HUGE difference in turn-in and overall grip/body-roll in the corners!

I understand that you have to be on the safe side but dipping into the 9's is a little too rich. Have you had any testing done in high altitudes to see what the difference are?

9s are too rich and not needed in an engine such as this with the sophisticated sensors it has working to save it. 10-13s are good depending on timing response and fuel octane.

There is a lot of horsepower left on the table with it being that rich.

AMEN. Even at 10 to 1 AFRs, too much power left on the table.
