ABARTH ECU Reflash Development Success Finally from EFI Logic

Just wanted to let you guys know we have been doing some recent testing with the factory ecu and have had some success to this point. We were able to read the factory file and have started writing a custom definition file so we can begin tuning. So far we have been able to locate the torque limits, fuel, ignition etc tables. Hopefully over the next coming week we will have our first dyno session. We we only doing baselines in the pic on the dyno after we read the factory ecu. I know others have not invested much time in the USDM platform because we were launched with the Marelli ecu vs. the European Bosch ecu but we stuck it out and got the necessary information we needed to alter the factory maps.

This is a real deal tune boys. The piggy back boxes will be history eventually depending on how well this pans out.

Can't wait to see if the intake cam is tunable.

We have already located the major tables the Cam angle tables are next but not necessary to begin testing at this point. Cam angles are more so about economy than power so adjusting them will yield more midrange power than top end. The manufacturers arent usually too far off on those adjustment just more conservative.

Most flashes are undetectable from the dealership scan tools. Thats the advantage of bench flashes vs obd flashes. Not to mention our intent is to put our tune on the sports mode button only.

Kinda out of the blue but is there a chance you can measure the differences between the latest PCM reflash and the previous program? I'm sure that's not in your plan but it might be interesting and useful to at least know the differences in the maps, if not dyno comparisons.

    Just a thought...

Big pat on the back from MrFiat. Reverse engineering is not easy. But I have a question. The test bed you're using in the photo appears to be the Tributo Ferrari (unless it's a very good customized copy). As such, isn't that an imported Euro car and fitted with the Bosch ecu? And isn't the TF already highly tuned?
I spent most of my money on fast cars, guitars and pretty women. I somehow managed to waste the rest of it.
