There are a lot of 500s here in Austin but not too many Abarths. Trying to change that though with my red /black Abarth

Who organizes events for them? I haven't seen any Fiat clubs in Austin be active.

Also, when did you guys change the name from FLU?

When Fiat returned to the US, their legal department did not allow the use of their names (Fiat and Lancia) in the club's official corporate name. Fiat did recognize the benefit of a 30+ year old club. They granted the club the use of their name "Fiat" but only as a "doing business as" name. They would not allow the use of the name Lancia in any form. So, technically, the corporate name of the club was changed from Fiat Lancia Unlimited Inc. to become F.L.U. Inc, and dba Fiat Club America. The club is very fortunate to have the legal use of the name Fiat in some form.
This was written up in the magazine on more than one occasion and many people get upset about the lack of the Lancia name. It's important to also point out that in our owner database we saw that Lancia owners only represented 4%. The FLU acronym also had more negative connotations than positive to outsiders and newbies.

It should be the Fiat, Lanica, Alfa, and Mopar (FLAM!) club now since the new Alfas have all four names stamped on them, lol...

FYI, we're having a get together at Stressless Auto (9701 Metric Blvd, Ste 300, Austin, Texas 78758) on Feb 28th. Someone let the official Fiat club people know!

These Austin FIAT Club meetings at Top Notch are always a nice group of Italian car folks who bring a varied mix of cars. Always something interesting to look at and exchange information about.
