I'm having the same issue with my 2013 500c I purchased last week. I took delivery of the vehicle with only 18 miles on it and have driven it with kid gloves. A couple of days ago, a strange "clunk" sound starting coming from driver's-side front suspension whenever I drove over anything greater than a manhole. I have an appointment with the dealer this morning and hopefully they will diagnose and repair.

Update: Just got back from the dealer...it is indeed the strut mount. Apparently the old style is known to be defective and needs to be replaced with a newer style that are on back order. Since he was already aware of the problem, he had proactively ordered the mounts and they should be available by the end of the month. Driving the vehicle in its current state is neither dangerous nor damaging to the vehicle. He stated that replacing the mount with the same type (what's currently in stock) will eventually lead to the same problem. This last bit of info may be of use to those who have had similar experiences where the clunk sound returned after the dealer had serviced the mount...they may of failed to use the newer style.

I've done some reading and found the top strut mount or the jounce bumpers each can cause this clunk. I tend to think Fiat/Chrysler will resolve this soon. I'm going to wait as there isn't any damage to the car or danger to me while driving it other than the pained look on my face when I hear "clunk" :O

If you can provide the forum with the part # for the new top strut mount replacement part, that will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Chris, I have that part #. I'm actually trying to get the part # for the new/updated and improved Fiat stock top strut mount which is supposed to come out sometime this month according to this thread and threads on the other forum. I called my LS and they checked with their distributor and came up empty as of today. Perhaps your sources could confirm this?

Thanks! I replaced mine already with new old versions, but unfortunately the noise is still there. :-( Hopefully, there's an upgraded stock part in the works.

That's what I was told yesterday by my dealer. When the part comes in and is installed I'll be sure to update this thread with the new part number (if it hasn't already been).
