    No illuminated ignition?

With all the standard equipment in my 500 Sport, you'd think Fiat would've put illuminated ignition in the car. Almost every time I start the car at night time, i have a hard time finding the ignition. Any suggestions? Thanks. Ciao.

when I first get in, my reading lamps light up and light that area around the ignition lock cylinder. no need for it to be lighted too. do you have your map lights set so they come on when opening the door?

if its still a problem, do as I do if I'm putting the key in AFTER the lights go out: I just put the tip of my finger on the tip of the key and locate the lock cylinder with my finger, then insert the key. this way I'm not scratching the column cover.

but your map lights, up next to your inside rear view mirror, should be 'on' when you get in the car and stay on for several seconds......enough time to put your key in the ignition.

    hope that helps.......

Map light switched both in the middle position and put your key in before they go out.
I think that where the key lock is located is in such a tight place (so close to the dash) maybe it's the reason why Fiat didn't put one in? Donno.

    Reviving an old thread.

Has anyone found a subtle, elegant way to light the ignition socket, whether with a tiny led in the opposing dash area, or similar. Although the reading lights stay on for a few seconds, it would be much better with something similar to what illuminates the cup holders. Better yet would have been an LED ring around the ignition itself...

I’ve never have given it a thought after 8 1/2 years ownership. I doubt there isn’t any out to do that. Personally I wish there was push button start button.

Take a puddle light, mount it in the center console pointing at the ignition and connect it to the overhead light.

I had something like the light on my truck's key. It lasted maybe 4 years.
