Bluemusic Bluetooth adapter not working with my2015 Fiat 500 Pop

I just purchaesed 2015 Fiat 500 Pop, basic trim level, no steering wheel controls and I assume no Blue&Me since there is no microphone (only a black foam plug) behind the small "microphone grill" in the middle of the dash.
The radio is called a RAB unit in the manual (don't know what this means - brand name?)
I purchased this Bluetooth adapter (brand Bluemusic):
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/26400448556...mis&media=MORE

The specs say it is a simple plug-in installation and it installs itself to the radio as CD changer.
I followed the installation instructions but the unit is not working. My phone cannot see any Bluetooth device to pair with.

So my basic question is - has anyone with RAB radio installed this specific unit (or tho counterpart got wopithout the handsfree mic) successfully?

I have done a ton of searching. All the YouTube videos show successful .installation on European 500s. The radio on the Euro cars has different front buttons arrangement so I am wondering if maybe the RAB radio on NA cars does not have the circuitry to allow this unit to install as a CD changer?

Or maybe I just have a bad unit?

The white connector block on the back of my radio has only 6 wires connected to it. All 6 wires are on the same end of the receptacle as where this adapter is intended to be installed. The BT unit has 8 wires.

I was very excited to find this BT adapter, it is exactly what I have been looking for. Hoping someone out there can confirm that this BT adapter can work with NA Fiat 500 / RAB radio.

What part of the US are you in? Never seen a blue tooth adapter like that. Mine cost about $7. Works great.
2013 Fiat 500 Sport AT, Xpel Ultimate Clear Bra, 3M Crystalline Window Tint, Black top stripes, Black "500" (wide) side stripes. Fiat "500" Stainless door sills by Mopar. BlueTooth music streaming. OBDII BlueTooth Torque gauges streaming to smart phone. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus tires, STS rear sway bar, Euro+Drive NA 500 Tune, BMC reusable air filter and Spare Tyre with cover.

Blast to drive! 25 years newer than last car!

    Thanks for your reply.
    I am in Canada.
The main reason I decided on this particular Bluetooth adapter is because the power purportedly comes from the connector block, so no need to tap into the car wiring.
Several Youtube videos show this unit being installed and working perfectly, so figured it was a safe bet. E.g. :

So which Bluetooth unit do you have? Does it plug into the back of the radio? Or is it an external adapter that uses your Aux plug for audio and USB for power?

Yes I looked at those units and similar. However my 2015 500 has the AUX plug on the floor and the USB connector in the glovebox. So would be an awkward installation.
