Heads Up! Facebook Removes Pages With No Violations

This is a heads-up for all who own Facebook pages, whether community, businesses, or even personal pages. Facebook will remove pages without warning despite your page having no violations. That means all your posts and images are gone and are not recoverable. It does not matter if you did nothing wrong.

They will not tell you what triggered it or why other than, if you are lucky, the vaguest reason. The "review" process, if you are fortunate to get one, is open-ended and stretches for weeks on end. There are no email correspondence and no transparency. You are just left in limbo. And you are not always granted an "Appeal."

Everything I read online regarding how to contact someone or appeal the process was wrong and didn't work. All the email addresses do not respond. All the "contact us" do not respond. I lost track of how many emails and contact forms (when they did work) I sent and filled out. Not one response.

So if you are thinking of running or posting on a Fiat community or business page on Facebook, I would be leery. Especially because it seems possible that the name "Fiat" gets connected to Fiat Currency and Crypto Currency discussions, and the FB algorithm screws up.

You don't have to worry about Big Brother or algorithms on a forum.

    ------------------------------------------

    Background:

Despite no violations, my apolitical and uncontroversial page was removed after 13 years without warning. And it took me 3 1/2 weeks of work every day until I got to someone to ask to look into it. There were no promises, no time frame given, and no email confirmation they would even look at it. I found out by accident my page was reinstated. There were no apologies or explanations given. I was lucky.

This is my Facebook page recommendation:

" We're helping you grow your audience because Pages like yours bring people together. Your Page is now in lists where we suggest Pages to new People."

    My page had NO violations.

Be careful folks. You are being watched on FB.

Geez, that’s so lame. FIAT and Crypto are somehow linked, according to FB? So I’ll just hang out here for now. Typical, American, miscalculation on what FIAT is. I’ve read the 500USA FB page - never seen anything remotely offensive on it…

Thanks! I appreciate you along with everyone else that visits us.

That crypto connection is a theory. Of course, we can't say for sure because they won't tell you anything. I wouldn't be surprised if some knucklehead doesn't know that Fiat is also a company's name.

Get this: Here's a post on my personal page that they removed because it violates their cybersecurity standards(!)

Rear wheel toe-in must be a coded message.

That's just nuts. And it's likely to get worse as FB recently let go 11-13K workers and it is said more layoffs will follow.

And then there is all the tracking they do on your "off Facebook" time on the computer. Check yours out here:

It’s madness. I write al, kinds of inflamatory stuff on my page (journalism/media background), and I’ve never been flagged. Thanks, I won’t mention any toe-in’s from here on out 😂👍

Not surprised. Sounds similar to what happened to me on EBay. Their policy is not to give an explanation.

    Because ‘explanations’ involve admitting errors….

Believe it or not I was actually told by EBay support staff more than once that their policy was not to give explanations. They are probably worried about a class action lawsuit if someone could show that a common thread in banning customers is discriminatory.
