The Maserati dealer is going to be one of the most expensive places to get your car fixed. Some leaks you need to fix, but others can be just seepage and can be cleaned off and lived with. When you go into an expensive shop or chain repair shop, the techs go crazy looking to sell everything under the sun. Especially a dealer when it's customer pay and not warranty work.

I bet that independent shop will be a whole lot cheaper.

Hi OneMansTrash. There is a tech named AJ that previously worked at D'Ambrosio and then the Alfa Maser shop on 202. He was the only guy I trusted working on my Abarth. He is now running his own shop near Kennett Square. Try his email ajnorat@gmail.com

Well, I did have that private warranty I paid for.... Speaking of which, I have a bone to pick with them. If it won't cover oil leakage, tell me, what WILL it cover?

Anyways, the dealership was probably a bad choice, true, but at least I did get a diagnosis, and I have a plan of attack. Again, many thanks to those who responded!

At least they know Italian cars. Not a lot of choices out there, so not a bad decision. They are just used to Maserati prices.

Hit the warranty company up and see what's up with that. Maybe they can send you a list as to what's covered. The dealer could have screwed up too.

I have a 2012 500 since Dec 2022, I have noticed the same thing happening. Burnt smell when I park in my garage and noticed a decent size (1/2 dollar) spot of oil leak. And yes, the dipstick is fine with oil fill level!? Hope you can find someone to fix your issue. Those warrnaties always seem to fit in between exclusions and labor costs.

Yep. I'd contact the warranty company directly because they vary considerably. ex: The Mopar warranty covers seals and gaskets for the components that are warrantied, while a warranty I took out (many years ago) only covered repairs in their recommended shops. (By the time I needed warranty service the nearest shop was 2800 miles away.)
