When I was in my early 20s, I saved my pennies so I could buy a Lancia Scorpion. My budget was 35 ¢ for eating and 65 ¢ for gas for my V8 Duster. I was a big Lancia enthusiast. Had a Scorpion brochure among others hanging in bedroom. Lived, breathed and ate for these guys. To see how far they have fallen is heart breaking.

The Integrale and the Lancia company were both legends that fell by the wayside. Sergio sums up the corporate attitude and tics Davide off :-) Yes Davide Cironi is also one of my favorite reviewers. He is so passionate about the cars.

Edit: Oddly when I bought the spare tire kit for the 500X it had Lancia on the label. I was so happy to see it.

That is neat. There are a lot of Lancia emblems molded onto the back of trim pieces on our cars. Always nice to see.


One of the cool things about Italian cars is how some of the same engineers and designers of the iconic supercars we worship have also worked on more mainstream models an average wage earner can enjoy. Gandini, Giacosa, Lampredi, Jano, Martinelli, Busso, etc. Makes sense there are so many noteworthy modestly priced classic Italian cars.
