    2017 Auto error code 0962 -transmission fluid low?

    Today the CEL went on but did not come back after starting on the way back. The error code is 0962. I could not find anything specific online other than low pressure on Solenoid A- pretty generic. The car has low miles 33k and I've had it for a year. It was in a collision but nothing significant that could damage transmission. For starters I would like to check the fluid level or maybe someone had this issue with theirs and can share some tips. it is a 2017 500l with the toyota true auto not DCT. I bought it for reliability of the transmission but now I'm not so sure.... Anyway- how do i check the fluid level?

    Isn't it the same Aisin 6 speed torque converter transmission used in the 500? I read that they switched from the DCT after 2015. I have the 6-speed auto in my Abarth which I believe is a heavier duty version with extra clutch plates and stronger half shafts than the base model. 27K on mine and no issues.

    yes this is the Aisin unit. There are many reasons for that error code including bad ECU signal or wiring/connectors. I just want to start simple

    I am not sure that you can check the AT fluid level. I think that you drain and replace. And even doing that it takes a couple of times to go through the drain and replace cycle to get a full level of new fluid.

    The bottom of the engine is bone dry and the car has 33k miles on it. Maybe it's wiring or connectors? It's my wife's car and if she has trouble shifting or gets stuck she won't be trusting it anymore...

    I do not believe there is a dipstick - I know there isn't on my 2012 500. You should take it in to get checked. If the previous owner messed with the transmission and underfilled it, that would be a disaster waiting to happen.

    I don't think he did anything - The car had 30k on when i bought it and the records only show oil changes
