Went to the Fiat Event today

At the Tacoma Mall, this was mentioned in Chris' blog this morning and on a spontaneous whim, I decided to go and check it out as it's an OFFICIAL FIAT SPONSORED EVENT.

So I called my Mom and got her voice mail, then called my best friend, but they were at the fair so he was out so Mom called me back as I drove down and she decided to go.

All it really is, is a test drive of several FIATS, including both sedans and cabrios with at least some cab's being the Lounge models, I chose a gray sport sedan with manual and with the test drive guy, myself and my Mom in the car, me in the driver's seat, that little car can still scoot pretty good and rode well over semi bumpy roads. No chance to get out on the highway with it, but I was able to demonstrate it's spunkiness none the less. I'm still undecided on either the Rosso or the Giallo myself.

    I STILL want one, badly.

And for my time with some questions and a test drive, I got a $15 gift card for the Mall itself and Mom got one for being a passenger! The only thing was, her getting into the back, at 79 and with one funky knee and other physical ailments, getting into and out of the back was not easy, but she was comfortable none the less once back there.

They were in a spot over near the Sears in the parking lot with the tables and tablets under a tent that was adjacent to their trailer and they had I think about a dozen FIATS to demonstrate.

So in this case, no pressure from sales people, just reps from FIAT back in Michigan as all the cars were registered there on hand.

So that was fun and meanwhile, found a coupon for an oil change for my old beast of a truck as it turned out, I was WAY overdue an oil change and as expected, it has issues, dirty coolant, power steering, an oil leak etc, not unusual for 235K+ miles but I feel better knowing at least it has fresh oil in it. :-)

And we could not have asked for better weather, upper 70's to low 80's and sunny, perfect.

    ciddyguy,

I'm glad I stayed up late last night to post that! I had to get up early for work, but didn't want anyone to miss the event. Knowing you made it makes it worth being tired.

Did you hear any feedback on the cars or event from those that attended

Chris, glad I made it all worth your while to be tired today. :-)

It was fun, but sadly, didn't get a chance to find out from anyone else who were there testing out the car, but I DID plug this site to the reps though!
