    Noise cameras in Europe?

France has joined into a campaign against noisy vehicles... 7 cities now have noise cameras? Initial testing was in Canada then the US.

A lot of it is driven by the popularity of Harleys and similar running straight pipes. Paris was strict even back in the late 50's, when the Dauphine (and similar) had 2 noise levels on the horns. I wonder if that's why the 500 horn is so quiet.

I remember there was a city and a country horn selector in some of the cars. In some towns the use of a horn is highly regulated as to when and if you can use them. That's why flashing the lights was a big thing on the European cars and was pretty novel back in the day here in this country. Everything is so regulated who knows what the deal is with the 500 horn. The Fiat sport models back in the day came standard with powerful FIAM air horns, like in a Ferrari, and that was a favorite feature back then. They are loud and have a distinctive tone.

Apparently it's not just in Europe, though I'm not sure how Florida detects these vehicles. There are a number of cars that come stock louder than the allow 86 or 90 Db allowed, at least at WOT.
