Clutch Adjustment Question: Can the tension be eased?

I am a real woman who uses 3 pedals. And while I'm doing everything I can to stay in great shape, my left knee and achilles heel are unhappy, probably due to stress from clutch use. Is it possible to adjust the clutch to relax the tension? Thank you!

There is no adjustment to make to the car but if it is over 4 years old you might have someone check it out. This is a hydraulic clutch (no cable to bind) but other mechanical problems can cause extra tension. These problems can creep up so an increased pressure isn't noticeable until it's changed out. You might also check if your model was one of the early ones that were recalled for clutch problems, 2012-16 models, recall number S34.

I'm sure you already know, but minimize the time you hold the pedal in. I try to never have the pedal depressed more than 3 seconds. It's easier on my knee and avoids needless wear on the throw out bearing.

Take a look at how you operate the clutch. Many times I lift my foot completely off of the floor and hover over the pedal, and I can imagine that may be an issue for some (and maybe me at some point the way it is going). Maybe you can experiment with how you depress the pedal, like resting your heel on the floor more to take the pressure off of your muscles and knee, etc.

About the only thing I can think of is to maybe flush out the clutch / brake fluid and maybe that may help. Can't hurt.

I ran the VIN and thankfully my beloved little Rumbler was not in need of the S34 recall clutch correction. I will take your advice and minimize use to 3 seconds or less. Thank you!

I think the fluids are good, but will recheck them. And I will experiment with position and use. Heel on the floor sounds doable. You know you are getting old when you gotta take Tylenol just to drive! Boo hoo. Many thanks for your suggestions.
