    I don't know if it can happen on a Fiat, but the ABS went out on my dad's BMW, refusing to properly bleed off pressure. You might also experiment with temporarily disabling the hill holder option in your settings.

    Dad didn't fully explain what was wrong w/ the BMW, but it was something with the rear ABS not releasing one of the rear solenoids IIRC.

    There are only two things that can make that noise and generate heat at the rear wheel: brakes or bearings. When checking the brakes, don't forget the parking brake system. It could be a severely worn pad, the automatic adjuster at the wheel, or possibly a sticking/impinged cable.
