My 2012 500, has the Bose single din sound system. Bose subwoofer under the drivers seat. Were talking about ancient Sound system Never wanted to up date the sound system.because of the center AC vents. Didnt wanna cut them up . Sound good enough, for a $21k car. Use my iPhone 13 pro, for navigation.
We dont use our 500 for traveling. All our other vehicles have Apple CarPlay and android auto.

All the new cars that will be available in the market. You at the mercy, of the new integrated sound systems.
Those systems control everything, all electrics in the vehicle. Everything from climate control, adaptive safety features, etc.
Gonna be very expensive to repair. Thats when you take out extended car warranty.

My 2016 Abarth had the standard double din u-connect head unit. It would play MP3 music, but nothing else and the sound quality was dismal. I changed it for a top line Kenwood. It married perfectly to the Fiat with a Maestro kit; all the steering wheel controls work. Much better sound than stock unit. Plays all music formats including hi-res Flac. Android Auto and Apple Car Play are built in. Sirius XM is there if you want it as well as a CD/DVD player. Doesn't have nav, but Android Auto provides decent navigation services. Also has gauge displays and even gives you 0-60 and quarter mile times. Not cheap, but, no regrets.
2016 Abarth Rosso: auto, sunroof, nero leather, electronic climate control, no Beats, ATM fmic, DNA chassis braces, Prometeo skid plate, 25mm tubular rear torsion bar, wheel stud conversion, E.C. V. 3 intake, GFB+ diverter valve, Gruvenparts billet oil filter canister, Euro 4th gen halo tail lights, LED headlights, fog lights, Kenwood Excelon DDX 9906 head unit, Neuspeed SS brake-lines, Hawk HPS 5.0 pads, 50th Anniversary Abarth wheels, 205/40/17 Michelin Pilot AS4 tires.
