Oil is the bloodline of our cars. Our 1.4 liter engines regardless if they are turbo or not run extremely hot due to how hot and small the engine bay is. Over the past 6 years in the business of working on newer Fiats we have found that ONLY 2 OILS really work for our cars. Pennzoil Euro 5w40 and Motul Xcess 5w40. These are the only oils that hold up to the needs of our engines. We found that Rotella, Mobil 1 even Castrol Euro which is a great oil do not hold up to the demands of these engines. We have seen engines come in with burnt exhaust valves as well due to wrong oil.


We urge you to change your oil and filter every 5,000 miles. Personally we only use Motul in our shop and have not seen any major issues. IMPORTANT!!!!! We have seen these engines consume oil as well so PLEASE check your oil every 1-2 weeks and top it up. DO NOT WAIT until it gets down one liter.......top it up immediately. They only hold 4 liters so this is extremely important for maintaining the life of your vehicle.


The other tip is to change your Multiair screen every 60,000 miles. We offer these as well on our website.


Our cars have one of two engines........the turbo 1.4 liter which takes a 5w40 oil and the non turbo 1.4 liter which takes a 5w30 so please specify when ordering your oil kit. I appreciate your great products and your enthusiasm for our cars, but I encourage you to proof read your posts. Oil is the "life blood" of our cars. Bloodlines have more to do with ancestry, especially for race horses, although it could be said that my Abarth is descended from remarkable cars that preceded it and therefore has great bloodlines.
