I saw this in my news feed. On the one hand, it's nice to see them not throwing in the towel altogether. On the other hand, I don't know how many of these sell.

These guys really need a plan. And soon.

I like the rag top, compared to the regular panoramic glass roof.

Our last Fiat studio, has one 500x Pop, and a 2020 white 124. left. The rest of the vehicles there are Alfa’s.

@mp4guy - I read recently that Stellantis is giving each brand 10 years to figure out their business case and bring it to market. So the FIAT North America team has 10 years from now to market their products and or get new ones to the showroom floor. In 10 years if they are still failing, then those brands get the axe regardless of sentiment. The vulnerable brands I see are FIAT, Chrysler and Alfa Romeo. All three have very little product and with Alfa and FIAT, still very little brand recognition.

The Italians typically come out with a great car(s) and then just sit back and let everyone else catch up and steal the thunder. Watched that in the 70s, but at least they regularly refreshed their cars every few years back then. They had something for everyone from sports cars to great family cars and stayed competitive for a long time. They also had a dedicated dealership network (500-700+ dealers) that only focused on selling Fiats (and Lancias) so all the companies resources were spent on one goal.

Now, they allocate resources only to the most profitable cars. EVs are great and all that, but they aren't practical for most people. So right there, that kills off most of the sales of the the new 500EV. There is a market for EVs and I think they should still sell the new car here, but the CJDR dealer organization doesn't seem too interested in selling Fiats of any kind. That's why they originally went for separate facilities, but we all know what happened there. Really tragic.

The issue with Italian cars, in the 70s. Very unreliable, they were rust buckets. Our dealerships really didn’t want anything to with them, trade-in wise. That’s when the Japanese car makers came in tune, with fuel efficient reliable vehicles. Fuel prices skyrocket. The oil embargo hit. Big old 455 cid American lead sleds, were detuned. Good bye fun muscle cars.

My wife’s first Honda Civic, was a extremely reliable car. Fun to drive. She trade a gas guzzler Pontiac Lemans for it. It corrosion factor, was a little bit better. than any Italian car all the time. My 1978 Trans Am, was the last of the American muscle cars. When ever we went on a vacation drive. We took the Civic.

I really don’t under stand Fiat’s marketing here. They have SUVs trucks in their stable. To offer here. All the other manufacturers are making a killing off of small cross offers SUVs trucks etc.. Fiat has the Toro compact pick up truck. To match up to the Ford maverick, and Hyundai pickup.
