Hey guys, need some insight on this issue with my 500X. I was driving home and the car started to slow down and then it cut off. I coasted to the shoulder and tried to start it. It wouldn’t start. Had it towed to a repair shop near my apartment. The owner said it appears to have the timing belt jumped and he can’t work on it due to it needing special tools. He said I need to tow it to the fiat dealer . I won’t be able to do that until Monday . I called fiat customer care to see if they can help and they won’t . The car is a 2016 fiat 500X with barely 46,000 miles. I love my car and haven’t had any issues with it. Is a timing belt jump an expensive repair? I know the tow will cost a lot as the nearest dealer isn’t close by . Any insight to help would be greatly appreciated.
