    Change Drive Selector

I own a 2016 Fiat 500e and a 2012 Prius. I dislike the drive selection apparatus, but I have a spare selector for a Prius, and would like to have a 3D model and wiring instructions on how to change the Fiat to Prius selector.

Does anyone know where I can get these?

    Welcome to the group, ericstott.

So far as I know, no one ever changed it and there isn't enough demand to build a kit. I think this is probably the 6th time I've read where someone wanted to mod the buttons (though some may have been the same person posting on multiple sites). Years ago, one poster said he'd figured out the wiring and was building a mod'd shifter but he never came back with another post.

I'd suppose you could pop both of them out and trace wiring and resistance. You might be able to reverse engineer it(?).

Welcome to the forum. Be the first to create one. In the 10 1/2 years of belonging to several Fiat forums, I’ve never seen anyone make the request. I wish I had your push button selector, on my ICE 500, with paddle shifters. Like some of the European 500’s.

I typically prefer a more tactile interface, to operate without looking, but with a little practice I can do that with the push-buttons. I'm now so accustomed to them that when driving unfamiliar automatics I press the "R" or "D" by the shifter!

Others must like them too, since I read somewhere that the 2nd-gen 2021 500e was originally going to have a shift lever but that plan must have been cancelled, since it comes with buttons.
2013 500e has been my only car since 2015.
