OIL.....is the bloodline of your engine!

Oil is one of the most important items to keep your engine alive for years to come. Over the past 6 years our shop has literally worked on well over 200 Fiats. The 1.4 liter engine runs super hot and what we have seen is an extremely high oil consumption rate. WHY?? We tell customers to use only Pennzoil Euro or Motul xcess 5w40. What owners have done is they find a 5w40 oil that is inexpensive and use that but the problem is in most cases.....the oil will not hold up to the needs of the engine. Oils are rated and both the Pennzoil and Motul meets or exceeds the ratings required by Fiat. So what happens....the customer uses the oil and over a short amount of time the engine starts to consume the oil because of the intense heat. Our cars take 4 liters of oil and we see customers coming into the shop down 1 or even 2 liters of oil and this is when the damage will start to occur. Over the past 2 years we have personally seen 6 engines come in with burnt exhaust valves and the repairs are very costly.

THERE IS NO NEED FOR ANY OF THIS.....THE SOLUTION IS SIMPLE. Change your oil EVERY 5,000 MILES with either Pennzoil or Motul. Check your engine oil level every 1-2 weeks and TOP UP WHEN NEEDED. Never let your engine go down .5 liters. When it goes down then it will consume oil at a faster rate. We have seen this happen with at little as 40,000 miles on the engine. Having said all this your engine will literally last 100-200,000 miles if you just take care of it. These engine are bulletproof and are well engineered but YOU must take care of it.

Sometimes it is hard to find these oils locally and with the closure of many dealerships it is becoming harder. DICorse stocks Motul and offers a oil change kit.

Lastly change your Multiair screen every 60,000 miles. This is very important. If you have any questions you can contact me at 239-676-5934 or you can write to me at: bob@teamdi.com I am here to serve you.

I'm not sure what the difference is (apart from a few numbers on the label..) but I bought & used this for my last 5,000 mile oil change-

    Motul (2051) 8100 X-Clean 5W-40 Synthetic Engine Oil

Seeing as it's changed so regularly the non precise spec is fine 3,000 miles in

I believe the xclean is used if the vehicle is older like over 70,000 miles but I will double check with the Motul rep who will be here Saturday. Either way you should be good.

Not really when you realize Motul is a specialty oil and easily goes for over $15 / quart (currently $16.16 on Amazon!) plus a premium Mahle filter and includes shipping (which is expensive to ship across the country). Some folks want the best and are happy to pay for their pleasure, plus they may also want to support the people who support the community.

Hey that's really nice of you, I appreciate it!

That's a really good price for the oil change paraphernalia. I go through at least 2 oil filters per change, the first I invariably drop down behind the front clip...the 2nd usually stays in the oil filter cap and locates back into its hole!!!

Thanks for the support. I have had like 4 private messages in the last 24 hours about this from other members. I have been in business since 1983....FACT.....since then until now I have exceeded $87 million in sales....FACT......we started before Amazon and free shipping etc.....bottom line give customers honesty, service and knowledge ....that is what we try to do......one person who lives on social media and seems miserable will always be around....thankfully the majority of our customers are great to deal with and support us THANK YOU!

It's only expensive if your ad is correct and you are selling 4 ounces of Motul and not 4 quarts/liters...
