Sorry, I don't understand your point. All coloring in automotive fluids is from dye added. This company chooses to dye the oil purple so it can be indentified. Granted, the purple means nothing more than adding yellow/orange/pink/green/etc dye to radiator fluid.
That's where, for lubes, a combo of weight grade and API certification comes into play... finding a fluid that meets/exceeds factory specs.
Everything in this thread is great information for me. I’m in the middle or relaxing boots on my axles and going to drain and fill the trans lube with Pentosin FFL-4. Reading that the Abarth requires a GL-4 rating, the point point and flash points are slightly different. Will this be a suitable alternative to OEM trans lube? Pic attached for details.

At $31 (+) a quart, I'm betting you're the first to use Pentosin FFL-4 on this forum
DCT Fluid pours like water - but given you're in a cold climate area (Troy MI), I imagine it'll be fine for your area of operation.

Maybe I'm missing something? That tranny oil is made for BMW's automatic transmission with the dual clutch(?)... and GL4 is for the manual tranny.

Since the OP hasn't listed what year Abarth he has, nor any info in his signature, I went back and found his first posts around 2013 - so let's assume he has a 2012 Abarth.
The 2012 Abarth Owners Guide calls for the "lifetime" Manual Transmission to replaced (when necessary) with:
"We recommend you use MOPAR®C635 DDCT/MTX Transmission Fluid"

For the price of 1 quart of Pentosin FFl-4, I'd recommend 2 Quarts of Redline MT-LV (70/75 weight) GL-4 Rated since the OP is in a predominantly cold climate. BTW OP; MT-LV = Manual Transmission, Low Viscosity
