Yesterday I received a car cover for my '14 Rosso Abarth. When making the purchase I'd decided to go with a "factory" cover and ordered Part #82213245 from an online Mopar supplier--even though none of the item listings I found had detailed description of the cover. If you're considering a similar purchase, here's what I've since learned.
The cover is made by CoverKing and is its Triguard model--their cheapest. In its listing CoverKing indicates the Triguard cover is for "indoor or light weather," made of "economical 3-layer material" and "for occasional use or under carport."
I paid $136 delivered for the factory cover. CoverKing sells a custom-fit Triguard cover for the car for $106 + $26 shipping. So, I paid an additional $4 for the Scorpion-branded cover.
CoverKing sells several other covers for the car, the most expensive of which is an AutoBody Armor model at $337. They also sell a "Mosom" cover that provides "rugged all weather protection"--for $159--which would have better suited my need. In addition to CoverKing, there are of course other brands of covers, including those from vendors supporting this site.
Question: My new-to-me Abarth still has bright red paint, seven years on. I don't know whether it was garaged previously, but do know the frequent effect of UV on red and other vehicles have displaced this one from garage to driveway during summer. Anyone care to comment on how their Rosso has held up over time?
