Auto Climate Control defaults to AC

My auto climate control defaults to AC mode when ever the car is started. Is this normal? Why doesn't it default to the previous setting?

Likely for anti-fogging. I never really cared for the auto climate's programming. I used it like a normal HVAC but with a thermostat.

yeah, I always found that odd, especially when it decided to cool my feet instead of the cabin...

I don't think that's normal. My 2016 has auto climate. Unless it's damp and the windows are fogging I keep it set with AC off and lower vents engaged, temp at 71 F. It keeps that setting when I start it up. Sometimes the fan setting will change by itself, however, and set fan speed to minimum. The AC will come on when defrost is selected and it refuses to turn off until I chose another setting.

That’s normal on any car. When you select the defrost mode. I’ve never notice if the AC, stays on when selecting another mode

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Please let me know if you plan on visiting a dealership for this concern. I would be happy to open a case for you.

So if it's for anti-fogging can I expect a change during start up when the weather is warmer? Car was recently purchased so this is all new to me. Just to be clear, whenever the vehicle is started the AC indicator is on and temp is set @ 75. I have to press the auto button and manually change the temp. The blower increases in speed but later slows down, as it should because of the auto feature. Just seems weird.

If the system is working properly and you have the vents set for something other than defrost, with AC off, it should retain that setting when the ignition is turned off and back on again. I wonder if one of the push button selector switches has failed?
