Old issues catch can install pictures

    Hello,
I have been doing searches but can not find info and photos on installation.

Looking for information on installation catch can with factory Abarth intake . Where to connect hoses inlet and outlet.

Thanks for your time and photos,

    Tony

Sorry I dont have pics. There are two ways you can do it - one or the other or both. I have tried both and concluded that only one was necessary.

It all originates at the air oil separator (AOS.) That is where the blow by gases in the valve cover get routed to both back into the airbox and also to the throttle body. Catch cans will splice into those two lines.

If you look at the AOS there is a large hose that goes back to the factory airbox. I left that one alone.

There is a smaller 3/8 hose that goes from a one way plastic valve that is screwed into the top of the AOS to the throttle body. I took the plastic one way valve off and drilled it out to allow for clear pass through. You have to make sure it is clean on the inside when you are finished drilling. There is a spring inside that will get ground into little bits. Then I spliced the catch can between the plastic one way valve and the throttle body. The one crucial item to include is a one way check valve between the catch can and the throttle body to replace the one that you drilled out.

In my case the hoses were 3/8. One way metal 3/8 check valves can be purchased from EBay. Best I can do for you.

Yes, that is the AOS. The small hose that the person has the needle nose pliers on the clamp is the one that you want to splice the catch can into. Once you remove that hose you will see the plastic one way PCV valve that needs to be drilled out to be a pass through. I left the hose connected to the throttle body and just added two hoses on either side of the catch can with the inlet side to the AOS and the outlet side to the new one way check valve and then from the check valve to the original hose that is still attached to the throttle body. Make sure the new check valve faces the right way. Good luck!
