Noob in central Texas

I’m Charles and I live near Temple, TX, between Waco and Austin. I’ve been car crazy since I was a child. British car shows and a couple of visits to Italy got me interested in Lancias and Alfas and Fiats and Skodas and Dacias and Renaults and so on. Our daughter is stationed in Rome so I was able to see ‘city cars’ in their natural habitat. She went to Rome with a Mazda, but is returning with a 70s 500 for me. I’m also having a suicide-door ‘64 500 completely restored in Italy with an Abarth mill. All this has led me to look at the more-recent generation of the 500 and the Abarth exhaust note is a hoot. I should have looked at it sooner!

here is the 64 as we found it and it has come a long way with a good bit of work left. I have about 100 pictures of the progress.

Front end coming together. Luckily there are still body panels readily available in Yerp. Couple more months moths of work to do.
