    Stock 0 to 60 time

Is it possible for a stock 2016 to have a 0-60 time of 6.5 seconds? I've read slower times from reliable website and magazines.
I timed with an android app w/ GPS. Who know how accurate that is though. Thanks.

Try going down hill. At the dragstrip, recorded a 0-60-mph time of 6.8 seconds -- 3 seconds faster than the 500 Sport -- and a 15.3-second quarter-mile run with a top speed of 89.8 mph. Take a test reading on a cool morning. Cars love crisp cold air.

It is highly unlikely that you just made 0-60 in 6.5 seconds on the road in a bone stock Abarth 500. It would be an incredible feat even at the track under optimal conditions.

Thanks for the replies. Like I said, it didn't seem accurate. I used the android drag racer app. It starts timing when the car starts moving.

That's about .7 second faster than the official time of 7.2 seconds. It's possible to beat the factory time depending on the car and how hard you want to beat on your car. Some cars run stronger and the factory HP figures are underrated. How much faster is open to conjecture, but I would think you could get under 7 seconds.

Looking at the first chart. Something is not right. Only a 1 second difference between 30 and 60? The second looks more inline than expected. Anyway, this is fun.

Hard to believe, but this is what a mid level (383 4 bbl., 350 4 bbl, etc) 1960s muscle car would do. Getting 8 MPG and polluting the hell out of everything.

    Now it's "slow."

From a Motor Trend article, looking back at the Camaro SS-350 "How'd the hot-shot SS-350 go? Zip to 60 mph in 8.0 sec, with the quarter mile coming up in 15.4 sec at 90 mph. Gas mileage? We estimated in the 12-13-mpg range." Their review of a 2012 Abarth, "At the dragstrip, we recorded a 0-60-mph time of 6.8 seconds and a 15.3-second quarter-mile run with a trap speed of 89.8 mph."

On the other hand, in order to get 8 MPG a car had to be in really bad shape or the engine in a really heavy vehicle. Granted, my '56 Chevy got 5 MPG, but it had 390 gears (about 65 MPH max), and our 454 powered PU w/ 11' camper got 8, but most 60's cars were capable of 12-15 w/ a V8.

Pretty decent considering drag racing isn't really the Abarth's forte, it's more about blasting back roads.
Completely stock 2016 500 Abarth, Rhino & Nero,
2017 Jeep Renegade 1.4 Turbo, Anvil & Black
    2016 Ford Fiesta ST

I wouldn't put pink slips on the line against the Chevy SS models, though. I recall them turning 13's in the quarter... a couple seconds quicker if work had been done.
