    Installed new downpipe-v band leaking

Installed a Circuit Werks resonated downpipe and if I hold my hand over the end of the exhaust I can hear exhaust escaping from the vband clamp. Can this happen when over torqued?CF67B3D9-61BF-4B2A-B2D9-1667AE206784.jpg

I often find Vbands leaking because people don't install them 100%. Once the v band is snug, you need to tap it with a hammer all around, as they tend not to seat 100% and will leak once tightened. Generally once you tap it 1-2 times you'll see and feel it actually seat

I actually just tried that today, tightened it down as far as I dared in 1/2 turn steps checking for the leak every turn of the wrench and its still blowing out of there when I cover the tail pipe. Gonna try a new clamp and maybe doubling up on the gasket.

did you check if the gasket that goes between the turbo and downpipe is not damaged? when i replaced my turbo i had a leak exactly from that spot and it was due to the gasket being damanged...you will be able to tell for sure if u remove the top of the downpipe and check for soot buildup on the gasket i believe..

this is the gasket you need if you need to replace it...

i believe the one for dodge works on our cars if you cant find it by searching for fiat parts..i got mine from a dodge/jeep dealer...pretty cheap part

Gasket looked ok but its obviously leaking. Im going to replace the gasket and clamp and hope for the best. I was worried that maybe I bent the flanges by tightening the clamp too much

Oh good. Going to need to get one soon. Mine's blown out.

Also might need to pick up an intermediate shaft. Tried ordering one a couple of months ago and UPS lost it. (Turns out it was my local UPS store doing shenanigans so I no longer have them set up as a pickup location)
