500 Abarth uConnect vs 500e uConnect - any difference?

Comparing the 500 Abarth uConnect and the 500e uConnect, (NAV units) is there anything which may interact with the car differently, ie would the same unit work properly in either car? I'm wondering if there are any extra, electrical diagnostic or settings which are run through and show on the uConnect screen of the 500e. I'm looking to swap out my non-rear camera 2017 with a 2018 or 2019 500 model. I figured the petrol cars would use the same skew, but am unsure about the 500e's uConnect unit. They look the same.

I've cross-referenced part numbers for the petrol cars, and the same radio is referenced for pop, lounge, sport, Abarth, but not e.
What could be different about the 'e' version - physically, and on the panel, there are no differences, visually.

2017 500 Abarth, manual trans, NAV, Beats, Sunroof, 17" wheels, everything. But no mods. None, nada.

Personally myself, I’d buy a after market sound system. Kenwood, Alpine, pioneer etc. The Incorporates, Apple CarPlay and Android auto. I will never own another car with out those features. The navigation maps, are always up to date. That has a 7” display, instead of a dinky OEM 5” one. The unit will handle a backup camera. Steering wheel control harness.

I’m curious if a 500x, radio would fit in the small 500. Even the 500L has Apple car play, and android auto.

Thanks, one day. But I Like the stock look of the factory 500, and I’m not a big phone guy, and I hate wires all over the place, charging, USB, whatever. When all my warranties run out and the car has lost value, I’ll think about aftermarket.

Where would there be wires everywhere? Not sure what you mean? You have USB ports now. Your not gaining anything from installing a OEM 2018 system. They run about $1,000 bucks from the Fiat parts department. If you want a reverse camera. Your car doesn’t have the wiring harness, or trunk handle camera. A couple more hundred bucks. A very $$$$ radio, with out Apple Car play Android auto. My nephew complains all the time, why his 2018 Abarth, has a small info screen, and backwards auto technology. Compared to the European 500 offer.

Any thoughts if the 500e would be different than the 500 petrol?

Yes, the 500e head unit is different.
It may work, but any of the car settings parts will not work.
There are a lot of special settings in there for the electric car parts.
That being said, the hardware is the same. It is just a firmware image difference, but I have not heard of anyone successfully flashing from one version to another, or even where to get those firmware images.
