    Front Splitter for 500e

Just purchased a 2017 500e and trying to find a front splitter that works with our bumper...Any thoughts on this?

No luck on finding a ABS splitter...I wonder if existing splitters can be modified to fit on our bumper.

I've been on the fence of ordering a splitter for over a year and I finally decided to do it. I haven't mounted it yet, but here is a mock-up. I may wait until I know the snow isn't going to come before I actually mount it.

Well I am a man of little patience. The anticipation got the best of me.

New problems! Now I scrape on my mildly sloped driveway

The raised ridge on the corners follow the curve of the bumper perfectly. The forward projection and curve mimic the shape of the front bumper really well. Only the little wings on the front edge break up the flow but do not protrude farther than the lip.

Once I put on my spring or my summer wheels my clearance issues should be minimalized.

Could you tell us which company makes that splitter and where you bought it, please?

Yeah, going over speed bumps and up ramps is always a problem for cars close to the ground. A guy at work ended up installing air lifts on his non-Fiat. He had a small pressure tank and compressor onboard. When activated it'd lift his car about 1 1/4", then he'd let the air out when clear of obstacles. On my previous car I'd simply have to go very slowly (under 5 MPH).

It's the Maxton Design Abarth splitter Version 1. Supposedly for the 2008-12 Abarth.

I ended up buying it on Amazon. I almost purchased it last year at the beginning of the pandemic but it was over 3 months delayed and $200 shipping. And then it suddenly showed up on Amazon with free shipping from Great Britain and only $40 in duties!

You will definitely want to remove the bumper to install. I didn't take any pics through the process but you can re-use a couple existing holes from the original air dam mounts (mine was removed from constant scraping from being lowered). Due to access constraints with the design of the 500e bumper (even with the bumper removed), I reused the plastic hold down clips from the air dam in areas I wasn't able to use the supplied nut and bolts.

It took me about 2 hours from start to finish to complete the job.
