    New Guy From AZ

    Hi All,
New guy from AZ checking in. I'm an old guy who started driving in 1976 and have owned a ton of different cars (couple of '66 Mustangs, 3 different NA Miatas, '56 Chevy PU, blah, blah, blah...) with an '87 Conquest TSI being the only boosted car prior to the Abarth. I've been poking around on this forum for a few weeks now and decided to go ahead and sign up since I have the car at home now.

I picked up the '12 Abarth from my brother in Sacramento. Between jacking up his left leg in a motorcycle accident (has trouble with a clutch now) and not being able to get the Abarth thru CA smog (missing the original intake bits) he decided it was time for it to go. To be honest, I wasn't really interested in the car but told him, I'll buy it, just send me the title and I'll get it registered here it here in AZ. So, once that was done I sent him the temp plate/registration so he could drive it for awhile until I could get up there and drive it home. This past weekend I was able to get up there to get the car and bring it back.

My brother had warned me it was a bit of a handful but, HOLY MACKEREL!!! This thing is friggen ridiculous! Drove it 965 miles home to AZ and thought I'd end up with a ruptured spleen before it was all over (suspension is a bit stiff). Thing is scary fast too! A hoot to drive.

Anyhow, here's a list of the goodies that are on the car:

    Road Race Motorsports Ultimate ECM
Magnetti Marelli Power Pak ECM w/remote (not installed)
    Madness High Flow Intake
    Madness 6KHID Headlight Kit
Wilwood DynoPro 6 Piston Front Brake Kit (slotted/drilled rotors)
Magnetti Marelli Drilled Rear Brake Rotors
    MagnaFlow High Performance Exhaust
    Craven Speed Short Shift Kit
    Sila Blow-off Valve
Road Race Motorsports Front Brace Bar
    NueSpeed 28mm Rear Torsion Bar
    Bilstein B14 Coilover Kit
17" TSW Mallory 4 Matt Black Wheels
    Abarth Chrome Gas Door
    Abarth Embroidered Trunk Pull Strap
    Black Framed Tail Light Assemblies
    WeatherTech Window Wind Deflectors

    And a few of pics.

    Home after 965 miles

Welcome to the forum here. I really like the photo, of your Abarth and the giant scorpion. Where was that taken? Nice, really fitting.

    Thanks for the welcome gents.

    @smark

The pic was taken in Boreggo Springs CA. I stopped over night at a friends house in Temecula and they had some home pics playing on their TV. They scorpion was in one of the pics so I asked where it was taken. Well, that was only an hour and a half from their house, and kind of on my way back home, so I headed that way next morning. There's a whole bunch of different metal sculptures out there in the middle of the desert. Hippie stuff man! Lol...

I just looked up, Boreggo Springs. On Google maps. They got all kinds of cool giant animal sculptures everywhere. Looks like a neat area to visit.
