Questions about adding features or items on 2019/2020 Fiat 500X

    Hi guys,

so I am looking at getting a 2019 Fiat 500X trekking.
well, its a tri coat rossa amore color with the 2019 500x trekking with cold weather, and leather seats.
its most of what I want.
    here is what I want
Leather seats, heated seats, beats or good audio speakers, Front and rear sonar, Nav, LED headlights or a bright headlights for night time driving.

    the questions is guys.....
could I have them add the speakers, front sonarm and headlights?

would they do that for me?
I know many times I asked them to add it and they wouldnt do it.

I am just a little unsure of what to do so what do you guys think?

I think your best bet will be to locate a car that has all the options you want. The factory installed units will be cheaper. For upgrades, your best bet is to ask the service center who they recommend. If the dealer "installs" custom work (tinting, stripes, stereo upgrades, etc) they often farm the job out and tack on 25%.

Leather seats will be expensive, if my friends' experiences are an indication. When the FJ Cruiser came out, leather was not an option. The dealer had it installed for my co-worker. As best as I remember, she said it was a $3500, which seems a fair price for the work. I had speakers installed in my car. I caught the shop when business had been slow for a couple weeks and let the guy negotiate himself down. He met Crutchfield's price on the parts and gave a discount on installation. Their normal installation price is $125 per pair. I used the same stereo store to install tinting, but he farmed it out, which cost me an extra $150 more than contacting the installer directly.

Have the dealership locate you a car, with the options you want.

I am thinking it might be cheaper, but guys thinks I appreciate you help. I haven't heard back from them. I think i will spring for a 2019 or 2020 Trekking plus or a sport. If not I will just upgrade my Jetta TDI 2014.

I was talking to my brother.... and he think I should keep my car, and just upgrade the things in the car that I would want in my new car.... so that would be the following....

    -Rear and Front sonar.
-New Radio with apple car play or nav.
-Bose or Beats or Good Speakers (my Jetta has Fender)
    -LED Headlights

So like I said I am looking to get into a trekking plus or sport so I am a bit confused not sure what to do......

So what do you guys think?

As much as I love my 500X, I would need more money to buy the same specs on the newest version. I think you’d get more options on other cars for less. If I needed to buy something from the same category, I’d get the KIA Seltos (AWD standard), Mazda CX-5 (premium interior), or Ford Escape (hybrid sport). I would really consider the KIA Seltos SX turbo because it’s got a great interior (room and design), powerful engine, sporty looks, standard AWD, and a great warranty for less money than the X. The escape would be my second option because of the great amount of standard features such as the lane keeping assist; awesome car. The Mazda is a premium car; you can get a not-so-loaded trim and you still get a great car.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my X but now I would have to pay more for the same features; very little improvement/innovation. As I Already have it, I don’t want to get rid of it regardless of the lack of features or power; love it.

I know what you are saying, but the question here is I am thinking of getting into another Fiat. I feel like you avoided the question. I was asking what new CUV I should get ... the quesion was new Fiat 500X or upgrade my current 2014 jetta TDI?

Just heard back from the dealership, the salesman told me the manger told him that instead of trading for a car they would rather just add the stuff, take the losses and sell what they have instead of doing a dealer trade to get the one I want. Its seem strange but is this the world we live in , if a customer wants like beats or Bose audio or similar that they would rather add it later then do a dealer trade?

If they'll take a loss, the 500X sounds interesting. I'd get a full price in writing, including what they need to upgrade, and have all the work done before driving away. Salesmen often have a way of telling you anything to make a sale and dealerships have a short memory.

Upgrading your current car is a good idea, if it's paid off, reliable and you plan on keeping it for a while. When my last car was about 5 yo, I started doing upgrades. I already liked the car and I ended up driving it for another 8 years. There can be a down side. With the car before that, I went all thru the car, did some upgrades, and put it back to like new at 75K miles. 6 months later traffic stopped on the freeway and a 17 yo driver slammed into the rear. Not only was I out half the value of my car, but the upgrade costs. It was worth upgrading, but it's always the risk.

My daughters 2015 Honda Fit EX L was dealer traded twice, before we purchased it. It came from a Honda dealership, in Nebraska some place. They were in such demand, you couldn’t find one anywhere. We paid $400.00 transfer fee, to get it. At that time, the Honda dealers couldn’t keep them on the lots. She looked at a 2016 500x. They were more expensive to match the loaded Fit. The Fit has a larger cargo area, then the 500x. The Fit had leather seat, sunroof, heated seats, navigation, lane change cameras, much more. For $21k. A 500x, same equipment was close to $27k. Still no sunroof. The Fiat studio wouldn’t negotiate on price at the time.

5 years later, with the 500x, you can probably name your price. They might not negotiate that if the dealer trade, is so far away. I would get the factory options you want. They will carry the factory warranty. Don’t purchase after market, accessories, on a new car. Right now it’s the prefect time to buy a 500X. Great discounted prices. The only issue, I see. If you can find a dealership for warranty, service.

That only aftermarket accessory that I add onto all my new vehicles. Is the clear vinyl front bra. Paint protection for the front bumper, hood, side fenders, A pillars, outside mirrors, door handle insets. No rock chips, road rash etc.
