New 500 leaks? Return to USA?

Someone on reddit posted this..in the comments he mentions that the source is secret, but that there are apparently plans for a return to USA...

    https://www.reddit.com/r/abarth/comm...arth_editions/

"As far as I know the Yamaha Monster edition will be available in the US."
"Its a private source, sorry, but FCA planned to launch 3 editions this year and one should make it to the US. In 2021, no more 595 as we know will be made due to CO2 norms. The editions are in the following order: Scorpion, Monster and Finale. So they want to hit the US market just one last time with one of those editions."

That's interesting. Wonder why they would pull out only to come back to the US and release these "editions" that appear to be just decals on the body. Yamaha Edition?!?

Am i the only one that read the subject line of this thread wrong? I was expecting someone from out of the country bought a 500. It leaks and now they want to return it to the USA. hahaha.

It would be cool if there was one last Abarth model. I've heard from a couple sales people that when they ordered the last batch of Abarths that were being made, they sold them quickly. So maybe do a special edition similar to when the VW Beetle was dropped.

I really doubt this version, will come to the states. The image is a European car. Very limited edition.

If any 500 is imported here, would be the new 500e. Slime chance too.

Exactly .... the Euro 500 Abarth and NA 500 Abarth are two different animals. I'm very doubtful but it could be possible FCA is dusting off the 500 tooling at the Toluca plant and will run off another batch of 500's for the North American market .... stranger things have happened. I'd like to see the Firefly 1.3L turbo used in the 500X migrate to the 500 Abarth along with the 9HP automatic w/paddle shifters and a proper six speed manual for 3 pedal guys like myself .... I'll keep dreaming.

In the end the Reddit post is just a rumor. Trouble with rumors is that all too often they're negative ones especially when it comes to things FIAT on social media like Facebook and YouTube. The lies, misinformation, and just plain ignorance and hatred is hard to believe especially when it comes from so-called "professional" journalists. It would be a 7 day a week job to try and combat all this. I don't have the time and besides, I'd rather be out enjoying my 500 Abarth.

It's probably a left over video from 2015.

Nice car but it does make me appreciate what we did get in the U.S. from a price/performance standpoint. Limited numbered editions seem to be an Italian staple- Moto Guzzi does much the same with their V7 motorcycle line. Ford does number the Shelby and Bullitt Mustangs so maybe there's something to it. Thanks for the posts ... nice to see and know what's going on in other parts of the FIAT world.
