Budget hood vent install.

No problems so far they seem to be holding up fine, if anything the weakest point was the glue I used which I had just laying around from old house projects. I know some people use rivets to hold the vents. Other than that, the vents are doing fine, I will see how it goes through the cold winter.

Last update probably, the hood vents have been holding up well. The car has been through rain and snow. I have not had any electrical problems with water going into the engine bay due to not having a diversion for the water that enters the vents. Overall, I am happy with the vents and I can warm my hands whenever I need to in this cold weather.

I was wondering about water, especially on those guys that remove the gasket. (Our local winters aren't cold, but we get a LOT of rain.) I suppose if there was a warm up problem you could figure a way to cover the vents.

If I was in the Pacific Northwest I would think a water diverter or something along those lines would be good if I really wanted the vents and parked outside a lot. I haven’t had any problems starting or having the car warm up in the low 20s. The car heats up decently quick still which is no surprise with how hot the engine bays can get. I think I have seen people make temporary covers for when weather gets rough.

The hood vents look good. Like they came out of the factory like that. My brother, lives in Aurora I’ll. He gets a lot of rain, and unbelievable snow.

I wouldn't remove the gasket if you get a lot of rain. If it's dry and hot like in the desert, then I'd remove the gasket.

Thank you, and nice I went to university in Aurora. The roads along the river there are pretty fun for Illinois.

My Nephew lives right off downtown Chicago. He’s Abarth is white with black stripes. He’s running Michelin all weather Sport tires. In you photo, I notice the snow. What tires do you have on?

The abarth looks really nice, I have hankook venture v2 tires on the car currently. They are the tires that came with the car from the previous owner.
