They bounce all over the price range, don't they. Some under $7K and others approaching $25K, and all from the same seller. ebay has some, Autotrader others. Duncan Motors of NC has a bunch. There's even one guy in L.A. who thinks it's worth $38K. Only 20,000 made, and buyers had to enter a lottery. I wonder if that's correct that it cost $4800 to make the car CA compliant.

They don’t have to make California compliant. Not a new vehicle. They are a 25 year old car. Considered an antique vehicle. My best friend lives in Redondo Beach. He has all his cars from ever state, he’s lived in. None of them are.

I would look for one, that’s low mileage, rust free. It’s worth the price to pay for one like that. One that completely been restored too. That black one, isn’t a OEM color.

Yeah, tend to agree on the rust thing. Even higher miles isn’t so bad, since engine parts, etc can be had. But watching that four-part, restoration on Youtube definitely made me think “no rust”

It's possible he imported it after 21 years, before 25 had passed. It gets past one Fed agency, but not the other. Then again, California has some unique laws of its own.

The CBP (Customs) says cars mfgr'd after 1968 must meet pollution laws, or it can't be re-sold, and that various states have their own restrictions. Military can bring a car home with them after a duty station. Maybe he got caught in that.
