I doubt it would happen this decade. It is currently a modified Miata. FCA was talking about dropping the 124 soon.

I doubt it too. If Honda rebadged it to a S2000. It would sell like hot cakes, in the Honda brand stable.

An AWD roadster? I doubt it. More weight and complexity would likely just dampen the dynamics and make it slower.

What the car needs is more power to win back people who went over to the Miata when they upped the power. More power would be the easiest thing, but unfortunately thanks to the EPA and emission regulations, the MultiAir Turbo is stuck at the output it has at the moment, but likely forever. The 1.3 Firefly sounds promising with its massive torque bump (210 lbs.Ft compared to 184 lbs.Ft). It is not a revy engine, but the torquey motor probably fits better into the sophisticated Euro persona the car has.

I agree 100% it would be good if Fiat put the 1.3L T into the 124 spider. It would really help the power. I like that Fiat has at least one RWD car. Do you think maybe Fiat would listen to us asking for the 1.3T in the 124 spider?
