FCA came up with a hypothetical situation, that maybe this could have been caused by the previous owner towing the car improperly despite having absolutely no evidence to back that up. Once I discovered that him towing it improperly as they said isn't even possible, as he'd already sold the RV before the rebuild was done, they ignored me and said there was no possible way to change the verdict. He did not abuse the thing, but I imagine they thought it would be easy to pin it on him to get out of paying for their mistake, and I imagine they weren't expecting me to dig for the actual truth on that one.
    Sorry, I misunderstood that.

Sounds like the dealer that screwed up the repair will fix it for you if you get the car over to them? That sounds like the way to go. Maybe FCA could pick up the diagnosis fee at the place the car is at now and you pay for the tow to the dealer. This way you both save money and the other dealer can put it through their insurance / eat the cost as good will.

    No worries.

And yeah, that's what I'm about to try and make happen essentially. It would be significantly cheaper for FCA and for me for that to happen. The offer was only ever made verbally, but the other dealer have been really professional and honorable so far, so hopefully they won't go back on that.

I look forward to hearing that all goes well.

I assume the PO let the dealer know the car was being towed, 4 on the ground. That's the sort of thing a dealer might enter into their maintenance tracking software. I know things go wrong with that method, but a clutch wouldn't be one of them.
