theres a couple of covers on ebay at a decent price. that would get you half way there.

i always wondered if one of these could be fitted to a 2013 500 abarth with the base stereo....

That’s a 2012 Bose subwoofer. It fits under the front passenger seat. The op is looking for a Beats subwoofer.

Thanks. I know. I was slightly hijacking the thread for my own question. Can i fit an earlier Bose stereo sub under the seat of a 2013 500 abarth with a stock stereo...I was thinking 'out loud & online'.

on ebay if you search for fiat beats it shows the carpeted beats grill section of what hes looking for. that was my contribution to his question...

The 2013 500’s, Fiat went to the Beats system. The Bose subwoofer is probably not compatible. Especially with a base radio. I would check out Crutchfield Audio. They carry a lot of after market Subwoofers, that you can install without issue. Moparpartsonline. Carries OEM subwoofers too. $$$$$$$$$

My 2012 500 has the top end Bose sound system with the under seat sub.

+1 on Crutchfield, mattsnapz. The factory Bose speaker is way overpriced for a sub-standard speaker. For decent sound in a small unit, you might consider a powered subwoofer. The average unit is 10x14 (or 8x12) and intrudes 2 to 4", so you can attach it almost anywhere... under seat, rear foot well, or next to the factory amp. At 100 to 200 W, they pump more power than factory. They aren't going to rattle house windows as you drive past, but fill in the missing Bass; tap the rear speaker wires from the factory amp output.

Most are less expensive than a used factory box on Ebay.

Thanks map. I was hoping someone else would speak up. The actual quality of most components in the “premium” stereo systems in cars, is complete garbage compared to what you can get aftermarket. And they usually need to be integrated all together. None of that stuff works correctly without all of that system.

Our 2010 Acura TL had a premium sound system. Called the ELS sound system. Fantastic sound for a OEM system. It would be extremely hard to find after market replacement, of the same sound quality. Our 2018 Honda Accord, has a premium sound system too. Nothing to stick you noise up, for the average individual. We rented a Lexus ES, a couple years ago. Mark Levinson sound system. Wow. Excellent sound Quality. Today’s modern vehicles, sound systems are much better then past vehicle. Because of their dash board shapes and electronic interaction. It almost impossible to find a aftermarket replacements.

It’s not about how loud your sound system is to rattle the window. The Bose system is just fine for my 500. It has nothing on a premium new car system.

The Lexus used China made Pioneers, as I recall; better than many, but done on a small budget. They did a good job balancing the system but there's only so much that can be done with cheap components. Having a quiet car really helps. The amp is adequate and placement well thought out. The speakers used in 95% of cars are designed for longevity, not quality sound; sort of like listening with cotton balls in your ears.

Fiat's speakers are made with cones so tough you could play racket ball. That's OK if volume is all you need. Myself, I like listening to an audio book in a normal level of speech, or hearing each note played. A decent bass is simply there to add punch to music, w/o requiring excessive volume or distortion. Then again, it's nice to rattle the mirror when the right song is on.
