Wheelers Dealers on Motor Trend TV

Ive got hooked on this show lately, the two brits who buy and fix up cars to resell. The U.S., Ca. version, not the U.K. version. Just watched an episode on restoring a 2004 John Cooper Works Mini.
Question: is the work as easy as that guy makes it look? And his shop, its so clean. Lol.
I just watched him take out, clean, and stick the supercharger back in - made it look like an oil change.
Is this guy super-mechanic, or do they take MASSIVE liberties on this show?

wow. youre pretty late to the party.
ive been watching this show from season one, as it was released, & ed china was the mechanic!

of course its real. remember they only have an hour to show EVERYTHING that was done to the car lol

the clue is to look at the 'man hours' figure on the final refurb/parts price tally. this will tell you how long the master mechanic ant anstead has spent doing all the work needed.
of course the place is clean...its essentially a tv studio haha

You can find some useful information on line, in amongst the lies and BS, and you can participate. But nothing on TV is real.

Well, Ive read some stupid things online today....said the person who worked in TV for twenty years. Looks like you should either change the channel, or stick to books.

oh i actually gave you credit for being sarcastic......just for the record, my 'truth online' was sarcastic.

thats quite a blanket statement youve made right there. if i was you i would steer clear of documentaries, nature shows & true crime stories then-your opinion must not be questioned (fyi those last six words were sarcasm too)

lol. Like I said, NOT the British version, implying I’ve been watching for some time. But just occasionally. During Covid though, I’ve been binging what was on the DVR en masse. But why couldn’t you have a ‘clean’ repair facility? Yes, I caught on regarding ‘man hours’, but they don’t always break down each element’s repair time. One thing’s for sure, the guy who got the John Cooper Works 2004 Mini for $9k got a pretty good deal, as did the VW Fastback 3 buyers. Since they’re in the O.C., I need to find out where they’re shooting and selling their refurbs....

I enjoy, all the cars shows on the Motor Trend channel/velocity channel. I’ve watched Wheeler Dealers for many year. Was upset when Ed China left the show. Bitchin rides is my very favorite automotive show. I miss Chip Foose, and Overhaulin.
