Spring Compressor needed when upgrading to Front Konis on 2012 pop?

I couldn't find an answer. I'm reusing stock springs. If needed what kind of spring compressor works best? Thanks.

Yes, you definitely need a spring compressor. The factory service manual recommends an odd compressor that is used at Chrysler/Dodge dealers but I've seen people do it with this style of compressor. It's one of the compressors I use, though I don't remember paying this much so you might shop around. Then again, I bought these probably 15 years ago:

Most of them are similar and you can usually rent it. I've used the MacPherson brand, left $100 for deposit, and then got the full $100 back when I returned the tool. (They'd charge $35 if you don't clean the tool.)

This is the video on getting the strut/spring off.

Watch the video. I used it when I did the Konis and Eibach on the Abarth. I never even bothered to have a spring compressor available.
Personally I took the fronts apart on the car. And let the weight of the car handle it.

This. Also I have never used a spring compressor on any spring change. Just never had one around. I have never had the top hats pop off more than about a foot when completely off the car.

If you buy the parts from a auto supply store. They will lend you the tool free.

If you are not going to lower the car, is there any reason to go with Koni struts rather than Mopar OEM struts?

What Koni says: Better handling, worse but reasonable ride, external rebound adjustment and they are yellow.
