Yep, I saw that paper, but I'm not sure it has anything to do with the Fiat blanket. There are a lot of variables between their test and the Fiat solution. Most notable is that the tested unit was a blanket... fully wrapping around the turbo's exhaust side. In the Fiat, it's simply a replacement for the factory heat shield, not holding heat in the turbo. The Fiat blanket sometimes drops upper engine temps maybe 10 degrees, other tests show no drop, and no test (I've seen) shows more heat is retained in the turbo.

The Fiat solution is mostly to make the engine a bit safer to work around when hot. The factory heat shield is 190F while the Sila can be safely touched. Combined with hood vents or ducted air, upper engine temps drop significantly.

Any chance you’re going to dyno? I’d love to see more. With my current exhaust quest - debacle, I’m very much considering switching from the original plan of using a custom 2.5” flange on the OE downpipe to instead running that one.
Please share any details or insight.

What happened with your custom flange? You sounded so excited about it. That's the route I plan on going. Already have the flange and exhaust, just need a shop to do it.

Bit of a misunderstanding or disconnect between the front of the shop and the guy who actually did the fabrication. I dropped the flange off with the car. He built a beautiful 2.5” B pipe and unknowingly used the CFP flange to start the pipe. I’ve talked to him since, he really just thought I was being detail oriented and maybe overbuilding a little but honestly thought it was what I wanted. The work so far, looks fantastic and he also straightened and tucked the Renagade exhaust. And widened and refit the stock tip. They have offered to buy a new flange to do the downpipe but will charge more labor because it was never figured in the original quote because of the misunderstanding. That job will cost me a little shy of $300 after tax. They’ve mentioned being able to gut the cat while he’s working on it. And since I’m going to have them tune it once the exhaust is wrapped up, the code won’t be an issue. That only puts me $100 away from the ATP high flow. So I’m really torn now; OE cat with 2.5” exit, dummy gutted cat with 2.5” exit, or High flow ATP that I can drop in at the house...
Thing is during the process we’ve dynod and logged some and flow keeps getting better but the ECU is fighting it. The car absolutely needs tuned regardless.

Probably digging up a dead thread here but I do have an RRM ceramic coated downpipe wrapped in DEI lava wrap for $250 shipped.
