    Clutch Delay Valve

    Has anyone addressed theirs?

Ive wondered for a while. I think while changing the oil this weekend, Ill take a better look. Maybe it can be easily deleted or drilled out.

    Any insight on this?

No insights on this, but in the e39 540i BMW world deleting the CDV was standard practice, and made a big difference for launching. I'd be very interested in this.

Sorry for not updating this sooner. It appears to be a really odd shaped little fitting. It’s small but has a bit of a bend to it so drilling may be out. I guess I need to try to find a spare to work on. I’d rather not chance disabling mine without a replacement in hand.

There were several who addressed this. I dont recall if any of it was posted here or not. You might search DocRon. If anyone did this it may have been him. I cant recall another member’s name who also did. They go back to ‘14 or so as I recall.

I finally got around to removing mine. It was fairly easy, all you need to do is open up the section where the CDV is house and remove a spring, the valve and a brown housing. I will say bleeding the clutch was a bit of a bitch. Use a set of locking pliers to squeeze the release.

I’ve read there is a trick to avoiding getting air in the lines, depress the clutch pedal and keep in depressed while you take apart the clutch line but I didn’t try it.

Overall feel - it definitely eliminates a delay. It feels better to me, and my shifts are less notchy. I wish I did this about 100,000 miles ago.

So my apologies for forgetting this thread.
I later contacted Deyeme Racing. They were discussing doing a kit and have already successfully produced them for the Dart.
I became one of the testers for their beta part.

Sounds like what you removed was actually the spring damper other than the actual CDV. Strangely I left my damper intact but did the valve delete.
I did have an issue with either a damaged or incorrect o ring but they sent me a fresh ring and I’m in business. It really does feel like a different car and shifts so much faster and smoother.
