    2021 Abarth 595e

It would be really neat, if Fiat offed the new 500e as a Abarth 595 model. Instead torque, from electric motors. Not sure about the driving range. These are just illustrations of what concept would look like. I like the aggressive front faade. The wheels too.

The future of FCA's A segment is electric only and this should also apply to the Abarth brand. We at Showcar have therefore imagined, with our usual rendering reconstructions, the appearance of the future (and probable) electric Abarth 595. What do you think? Let us know in the comments and share the video.

    https://www.showcar.news/abarth-595-...skizze-uscita/

Google translate does a good job translating the page.

In the second half of 2020, the first Fiat born to be electric only will arrive on the market: it is the new Fiat 500 , the third generation that we presented in world preview last week | Electric Fiat 500: photo, range, top-up, price and release date (Video) . A fundamental model in the electrification strategy of the FCA Group, which sees (for the first time in several years) Italy once again playing a leading role in the industrial choices of the Italian-American giant.

As we know, the new 100% electric Fiat 500 will join the second generation dated 2007 for some time, recently updated with the mild hybrid engine | Fiat 500 and Panda Hybrid: road test of hybrid city cars (Video) . The Group's strategy, however, is already outlined: once the 500 thermal life cycle is over, the future of the Fiat small car will be electric only . We do not know, however, what will be the fate of Abarth, the sports brand that, after the stop of sales of the Abarth 124 Spider , remains standing only thanks to the current Fiat 500, declined in the Abarth 595 and Abarth 695 versions .
The options on the table are different and none, for the moment, has been officially confirmed by the top management of the Scorpion brand. The first of our hypotheses is that Abarth decides to update the current offer, perhaps introducing electrification in the form of a mild hybrid. This would allow Abarth to lower, albeit in a very "soft" way, the average CO2 emissions of its range. But the fines imposed by the European Union on manufacturers whose vehicles will exceed the now infamous threshold of 95 g / km of CO2 on average have gone up. One measure to drastically cut average CO2 emissions is pure electricity. And it must be admitted that the idea of an electric Abarth-branded Fiat 500 tickles our imagination considerably.

To the point that we set to work to imagine, through our usual rendering reconstructions, the appearance that a possible fully electric Abarth 595 would have. Based on the new Fiat 500e, "our" Abarth 595 electric offers a dedicated aesthetic package , which emphasizes the enlarged ruts of the starting version thanks to redesigned bumpers, side skirts and new 18-inch wheels (the original ones reach a maximum of 17 inches) . The greater attention to performance goes hand in hand with better aerodynamic penetration, made possible thanks to new openings in the front bumper. The spoiler is not there, as the starting point will be the Fiat 500 with fabric top (but the arrival of a version with a hard roof is not excluded in the future).

If it ever receives the green disc for production, the electric Abarth 595 would be driven by the same zero emission powertrain of the new Fiat 500, however made more performing. From the 87 kW / 118 HP of the Fiat model, Abarth technicians could derive more power than the 145 HP currently developed by the less powerful version of the Abarth 595, even reaching the 180 HP of the current Abarth 595 esseesse / competition / 695 70th anniversary. Compared to petrol models, moreover, the Abarth 595 electric could count on the vigorous instantaneous torque of this type of engines. The result would be an even more enjoyable sport than before, thanks to the burning acceleration and thedecidedly lower center of gravity , thanks to the drowning of the battery pack in the floor.

The only aspect that would certainly make the purists of the Abarth brand turn up their noses would be the absence of the typical sound of the T-Jet and the exhaust system . A nice problem which, however, Abarth designers could partially remedy by creating a specific artificial sound . After all, since the electric Fiat 500 will play the notes of Nino Rota's Amarcord, why on earth would it be scandalizing to hear an electric Abarth 595 racing on the notes of a rock or metal piece?

On the Abarth E. I was thinking the same thing, a artificial exhaust tone. Enthusiast need to just move on. Just read a article in Car and Driver. Porsche Taycan electric, and Tesla S, comparison. Both brands, aren’t concerned about exhaust sounds. Their are very $$$$$$.

Electric sports vehicles, will trickle down to the main stream public . Hope to see the Abarth 500e here someday.
