5oo's in Sicily

On our last trip to Sicily my son and I drove past these beauties on the road just outside the small town of Randazo. We stoppped to take some photos but sadly we couldn't find the owner to chat with. The car in fromt is a stock Fiat 500 and the one in the rear is an original Fiat 500 Abarth. Excellent examples of the model.Enjoy

We thought the same thing. On closer inspection I noticed the springs were lowered and the tires were slightly lower and wider. Great look though.

True that. And we tried mightily to find him but no one appeared to be at home. Probably would have been a bit awkward though as this was rural Sicily and my Italian is marginal at best. Still I had photos of my car with me and us Abarth guys do speak an international langualge when we get together!!

Found a couple more photos that my son took. Thought I'd post them for your amusement. Nice red and black leather interior. Pity I couldn't get a better photo of the interior.

lol I studied Italian for a while... wanted to understand what they were saying in shops/restaurants I hung out, on the East coast. It turns out I should have been studying American Sicilian.

Yeah, I do that all the time with photos. I need to get a "real" camera, so I can slow the shutter speed. That's such a beauty... must be a blast to drive on the small roads.

My friend stayed in a old villa (cheap accommodations) when he was studying architecture near Rome... one of the old places with a gate that took 2 people to swing. The owner parked his van across the way between 2 buildings. It was so narrow that he'd often exit out the rear door.
