Anyone own a Jaguar of any variation? Thoughts?

Toying with the idea of a second, USED car in a completely different world than the Abarth: Jaguar.

Of course, it would have to be used, since I’m not wealthy or nuts.

Anyone own, hate, love, recommend, know the repair costs, etc.?

I got over my fear of ‘a Italian’ cars with the Abarth, now on to Britain...

Cool cars. The only Jaguars I've ever been interested in were the vintage XKE and the older sedans. I've had some friends who have owned them and they were very nice and super interesting. The shop where I worked at was exclusively Italian cars, but the owner would occasionally do Jaguars as the valve adjustment was like doing an Alfa Twin Cam and he was good at tuning the carbs.

Come to think of it, I did get to road test this F-Type 400 Sport and that was awesome. The exhaust sound was incredible. So maybe....

No doubt I will, but I'm interested in the opinion of like-minded Abarth drivers

lol - I too found the XKE was my favourite car of my 1960's - 70's youth. Got to test drive a used one at a local mini-lot. Should have bought it - $15k with some wiring work needed. Neighbor talked us out of it, blaming expensive service. That being said, I'd be looking at a cruising machine with a price tag below $15k, which means older in the 50k mileage zone. An offset to the Abarth, right? But the F-Type sport is lovely

Yep, "some wiring needed" summed up most of the 50's and 60's British cars (80's too, IIRC). The neighbor, a school teacher, loved British cars. He had an XKE for a short while, but sold it because it didn't fit his garage. As I recall, a short time later he heard it caught on fire in the middle of the night.

Some Jaguars should meet your price range. For me, I would be more interested in a Restomod.

I think the engine on a E-Type weighs more than your Abarth.
