(Abarths come w/ the C510, heavier duty and differing gear ratio, one reason for differing MPG.) Add in $600 for a clutch kit ($350 aftermarket). So they are looking at $3K to $4K to R&R the new part? It sounds like maybe they don't want the job, or their labor rate is $400 an hour.

Isn't this a 2017? Does an extended warranty cover anything the factory warranty doesn't?
Full factory warranty is in effect for another two years. Get this, now a second guy calls back and says “maybe it’s the transmission, maybe it’s the pressure plate”. Isn't that part of the clutch assembly? But they need to remove the transmission to find out which is which.

Since I’m not a Fiat tech, does any of this make sense? Then, guy #1 calls back and says “if we find any burned teeth then we’d have to assume it’s due to racing”.

Now I don’t know whether to laugh, cry or call an attorney. Racing? Check the tires and brakes if that’s your concern.
Because I know nothing about any of this (I liked the way it drove and the red seats), how does one “burn” teeth?
Any good Youtube videos on that?

I’m told tomorrow we should know, but since there are only two, FIAT trained techs, it takes time. A long time.

The thing has only 6kmi, so of course it's covered under warranty, if there actually is anything wrong with it. Be a little pushy.

Well, everything but “clutch” parts are covered. And yes, there is something wrong, as it’s making a nasty noise no other Abarth I’ve heard make. I guess I should have taken those auto-shop courses in high school....

A few months ago, I made a 4 hour drive from a friends house. 95% highway driving at an average speed of 78mph, MPG was 34, according to the dash info system. Range at one point hit 387 until empty.
