Has anyone tried this out yet? It is a 3 seat bench add on for the rear seat. Also, would there be any difference in the rear seat between a 500 and 500e? I would be installing this in a 500e.

Are you wanting to add a baby seat?

I do not need to add a car seat, just 3 kids. Their website said I could put an adult on each side with a kid in the middle if I use the optional plug-in adult buckle. I just received my 500e 2 days ago, so I'm not going to buy a Bolt. There are 2 straps with ratchets that hold the bench in place. The vertical leg supports look adjustable, so floor height should not be an issue. These apparently were designed to be able to fit into more than 1 vehicle as long as you have the necessary width. Here is a quick video of installation pictures. You'll need to slow the video down to 0.25 and pause to catch all of the details: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBK5...ature=emb_logo
I also didn't want to get a Bolt because it would have cost more than twice as much as I paid for my 500e. I do have another vehicle that can transport everyone just fine. I was just looking at options for those rare instances where I would need to sit 5 people in the car.
And that's what I am afraid off.
Legally speaking FIAT is a 4-seater. One might argue, in case of an accident, that the car was not approved/tested for more than 4 occupants... sure, those are small kids, but again - that is America. Crazy territory where anyone can sure for anything.

Yep. Common sense isn't so common. If the bench seat passes all safety standards in the EU, why can't it be safe in the USA? That's like the USA telling the EU that the EU is not good enough. Only the people in the USA are safe, the rest of the world is unsafe. I won't be doing this add-on anytime soon as it will probably be about $2,500 from time of purchase to installation. I just think it's pretty cool that creative minds come up with solutions that governments don't like.
I'm not sure there'd be any leg room left for passengers, but it's an interesting idea.... a booster seat for kids and adults.
